Unleash the Power of Vision

Updated: Jan 4, 2023

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. You cannot fit a big dream into a small mind.” Les Brown.

Without vision, we cannot see beyond the circumstances we find ourselves in. There is no hope to transform the status quo. So we drift by, accepting the condition of our lives as though there is nothing better out there for us. We tell ourselves that success is not for us, but for the select few who seem to have things all figured out. Nothing could be further from the truth!

There is no limit to anyone’s greatness except that which we impose on ourselves. If we can change that defeated mindset and set a new vision for ourselves where anything is possible, there is no telling what we can accomplish. All we need to do is reshape the way we think and view ourselves, and we can unleash our vision onto the world

Create a compelling vision.

There are many takes on what vision is. All theories center on the fact that a vision is futuristic. It is about how you see your future as an individual, as an institute, or as a business. Create a vision that challenges you whilst it inspires others. Vision should not be about how much money you can make and what you can gain materially. It should be about how much value you can add to your life and the lives of others around you. A vision should challenge you to grow and inspire others to grow with you. It should bring satisfaction that you have done everything within your power to transform your life and the lives of others. Your vision is not about what you can gain, but what you can leave behind for the ones who will come after you.

Your vision paints a picture of your desired future. To draw people to walk with you in your vision, you must be bold and unlimited about the possibilities of what you can achieve. Allow yourself to dream big and in bold colors.

No one will buy into something that is uninspiring, or directionless. Some companies cannot perform as they should because their employees and potential clients do not believe in the vision or understand it.

Create a vision that articulates your passion and your confidence. This requires you to be conscious about what you want for your future and how you want it to touch the lives of others.

"Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive it to completion." Jack Welch.

The above quote may refer specifically to the business world, but anyone can adopt it. Create your vision, articulate it with confidence and without limitations. Own it and run with it!

The Power of Vision.

‘Everybody ends up somewhere in life. A few people end up somewhere on purpose. Those are the ones with vision.’ Andy Stanley.

A well-crafted vision can clear up a lot of clutter and confusion. Without a vision, people live and work with no destination or direction. Life passes you by and you drift along with the current, unsure where you will end up. There are no conscious decisions or plans for the future, so there is no accountability for the time and resources we have at our disposal. Living with no vision is like setting sail on the vast sea, with no compass to guide you where you should go.

A vision has the power to map your way forward and propel you into a promising and successful future. It brings your world into focus, putting the ship of your life back under your control. You become the captain, determining the course of your life. Seeing ahead narrows your world down to the things that matter, so you do not waste your energy and precious resources on the things that do not add value or bring fulfilment to you.

Your vision has the power to unlock hidden talents and skills within you. It pulls you from your comfort zone. Any compelling vision demands innovation. It calls you out of the mundane into a world of unlimited possibilities. When you set out to do something that brings out passion and excitement, you will do whatever it demands of you to see it come alive. That desire to see what you have envisioned come to pass will infuse you with a different drive and energy. When a vision takes shape, it inspires you to be more creative, which encourages growth in you. It brings out a better version of you, one you will appreciate with time.

Your vision is a great motivator for you to get out of bed every morning, even on days you would rather not. It pulls you back on your feet after moments of failure. Seeing what success lies ahead will not allow you to quit in the face of adversity. It strengthens you and braces you against future setbacks. It does not allow you to bow your head in shame or host pity parties. Instead, it brings you a drive to find alternative ways to accomplish your goals. It inspires you to find a solution to every challenge instead of bowing to it.

There is nothing more powerful than a person with a purpose and a desire to see their vision come to life. Your vision arms you with a certain level of control over the future. It has the potential to catapult you to great heights. Your vision determines your destination. It is best to take the time to come up with a vision, so you can unleash its power and transform your life and the lives of those around you.
